Flatlock stitching involves laying one panel edge over the other, then stitching though the neoprene. The resulting seam is flexible and strong.

We use recycled ocean oyster shells in place of calcium carbonate powder which comprises approximately 10% of our neoprene

Carbon Black is one of the key ingredients in neoprene. It can now be carbonized from scrap rubber tyres using high heat to extract.

We have used limestone since 1996 to replace petrochemicals in our neoprene. It comes from nature and has less environmental impact.

We worked together with our key manufacturing partner to develope a non-solvent based lamination glue called "Aqua-Alpha" which bonds the suit's lining to the internal foam layer.

To save trememdous amounts of water whilst also reducing energy consumption and water polution, we use a dope dyeing process that infuses colour pigment into the fibre filaments before being spun into yarn.

O'Neill has partnered with the non-profit organisation Save The Waves Coalition to support their global efforts to preserve surf ecosystems. Both organisations share a joint mission focusing on protecting the oceans and the lasting legacy of surfing.

In 1996, Jack O'Neill launched O'Neill Sea Odyssey, an educational program emphasising the significance of ocean and environmental preservation. Taking part in numerous projects, we are especially proud of our partnership with Save The Waves Coalition and Africa's surf mentorship program, Surfers Not Street Children.
