For a wetsuit, we find that your weight is usually the most important measurement to follow. Height is less critical as a wetsuit will still function well if the legs are a little too long or short. We also suggest going for the smaller size if you are tossing up between two sizes.. most women's returns come back because the wetsuit fitted 'Too large'.
  1. Weight - Jump on the scales to weigh yourself.
  2. Height - Your full body height, measured from the floor to the top if your head.
  3. Bust - Keeping the tape level, measure under your arms around the fullest part of the bust.
  4. Waist - Measure at the narrowest part of the natural waistline with no tension around the tape.

Very disappointed

I have been using ONeill suits for the past 25 + years and have always been pleasantly surprised at how the cheaper/ partially sealed and unsealed suits out perform their price point in comfort, warmth and quality.

Sadly the same can not be said for the upper end of their range, yes it is warm and comfortable but I have used it 4 times and it’s already coming apart.

The chest entry stitches have come loose allowing the panel begin to split away and the back panel has started to delaminate/bubble.

Great wet suit but sizing is for the slim

I am 6’1” and weigh 82kg I purchased a new Mens Large 2023 Psycho Tech wetsuit two months ago after my previous Psycho Freak began leaking along failing seam lines, it was 2.5 years old. The internal fluid seam welds on older suit had also hardened and cracked causing chafing. My new suit was a noticeably tighter fit all over and particularly around the neck line which is good for neckline water seal but not comfortable particularly when paddling. I writing this review to warn others who are taller or heavier to consider buying an X large.

Hi Stephen, thanks for leaving a review from your experience. I am sorry it feels really tight at the moment but also trust it will losen up after a few more surfs. As a comparison, im 6'0" and 78kg and am wearing a medium in the Psycho Tech! However every body shape is different, and I am confident that although you are struggling a little now, the large will be the right size in the long term. An XL for your specs would feel great at first but stretch out to be too large and start letting in too much water. Hopefully, you appreciate the new, more comfortable seams and the graphene-infused liner!

Extremely disappointed . Glues and seams opening all over after short use

Extremely dissapointed . im 58 yrs old buying Oneil wetsuits for more than 30 yrs. the last version of the pyscho teck back zyp is simply very disappointing . i surf with the wetsuit barely 2-3 times a month during 3 months of winter year ( i dont live in the US) .I am extremely disappointed w/my Psycho Tech back zip 3-2 . The glued seams are splitting all over , the glue is coming apart and some of the places i even have holes and water entering . I have had dozens of Pysho 1 , and all premium back zip 3-2 Oneils along so many yrs. I always ensured i wash my wetsuit with cold non salty water. i would expect to have a good product but , im terribly disappointed.

New windsurfing wetsuit.

Used it three times windsurfing and it’s great. Third Psycho I’ve owned. Was a little disappointed to miss the $20 off for first purchase but minor. Pleased with quick delivery to NZ.

Top wetsuit

It fits my chest perfect. I'm not tall but I have a big chest. Other brands are too small in the chest in LS size.

A good wet tie

I’ve only managed to wear it once so far and was very happy with it. Easy to put on and take off, plenty of stretch. Kept me warm, water temp was about 14c

Let down?

From day 1 I have had water enter the left leg and left arm?

Also I have stitching coming undone in three places on the back, see pics. The suit is less than a month old.

I have been in contact with O’Neil since day one due to water coming in up the left leg and arm. I brought large as I have always done with other leading brands 3/2s over the last 15 years and never had a problem and as always I checked the O’Neil size guide to confirm.

O’Neil have said I can send it back at my expense to check the seams but that I should possibly look at the L/S even thought they said in the email that the large should have been okay? That’s of no help. I can’t just buy another suit.

Wetsuit is now for sale on Trade Me NZ.

Super disappointed this was a big change to O’Neil for me.

Hi Chris, we're sorry for your disappointment. We recommend buying suits as tight as possible and checking they are well and snug before you surf in them because we can not exchange sizes once they have been used. The stitching you are referring to is not coming undone, its where the factory has forgotten to trim off the end of the threads... they will not affect performance, however its definitely not a good experience to see this when you spend lots of money on a new wetsuit.

I have spoken with our warranty department who say they have already offered to refund this wetsuit for you so you can choose another. We trust your next experience with O'Neill will be a better one!

Sled Destructs

First wetsuit ripped on the seems within 6 months. O'Neil replaced, second one was just as bad. When paying a premium you expect to get at least a season out of a wetsuit. Wont buy again.

Hi Nick, we are sorry to hear your wetsuit tore on your jetski. We agree that a wetsuit should last more than a season, much more than a season! Unfortunately Jet Ski's can damage wetsuits. Wetsuits are high performance products, we build them to be the ultimate warmth whilst also providing comfort and flexibility. To achieve this we need to use materials that do require good care, particularly in instances such as getting changed in a gravel car park and riding on jetskis for a tow session. Its a delicate balance that all brands face.
