I brought this vest mainly for boogie board use to limit the impact to the rib area. The first time I tried it I had a rawhide vest over it and slipped off the board repeatedly. I then put the NEO vest over the top of the rashie and found it was much better. I recommend this as it helps with the cold, but isn’t too hot and it comes off easily when finished.

I can't believe how well this ribcage vest works. During 45 or so years surfing i have always experience chafing on the bottom of my ribs. Over the years i have taken to always wearing a wetsuit to provide some padding and at times have resorted to sheets of foam rubber to provide additional protection. Whoever designed this vest really did some good R&D before finalising the design. It is just the right length to tuck into your speedos/briefs and once under a rash vest or recently a spring suit I forget i even have it on. Well done O'Neill this thing rocks!!!

This thing is simply perfect. Totally works. Spent 10 days surfing in the tropics and finally I have no open wounds on my ribs from paddling. Great product. And it adds a extra layer when getting dragged across the reef. 10 stars.
