And now, our TB3X is now made from more sustainable materials utilising recycled plastic, oyster shells and car tyres, limestone neoprene, solvent free lamination and dope dyed yarn. We use recycled ocean oyster shells in place of calcium carbonate powder which comprises approximately 10% of our neoprene

Carbon Black is one of the key ingredients in neoprene. It can now be carbonized from scrap rubber tyres using high heat to extract.

Limestone Neoprene

We have used limestone since 1996 to replace petrochemicals in our neoprene. It comes from nature and has less environmental impact.

Solvent-free Lamination

Solvent-free Lamination

We worked together with our key manufacturing partner to develope a non-solvent based lamination glue called "Aqua-Alpha" which bonds the suit's lining to the internal foam layer.

Dope Dyed Yarn

Dope Dyed Yarn

To save trememdous amounts of water whilst also reducing energy consumption and water polution, we use a dope dyeing process that infuses colour pigment into the fibre filaments before being spun into yarn.

Great jacket
I bought this one in size M because I already had a HyperFreak TB3X Neo/Lycra Long Sleeve Wetsuit Jacket and a HyperFreak 2mm long sleeve springsuit and wanted something in between.
I weight around 73-74 kg for 1,72m.
I had and issue when I first tried it as I damaged the outer skin and made a little notch because I pinched to hard while stretching for bringing both ends closer.
So be careful, gently stretch both ends and pull in your stomach.
Tried it for swimming mid April with water temperature around 21 °C.
I could clearly feel the cold in my legs and was warm in the upper body even if a little water came in.
It's very stretchy so didn't feel constrained while moving arms and shoulders.
Very happy with it.

Hyper freakish comfort
Tried out my Hyperfreak Jacket yesterday . More than happy with it , easy to put on /take off , amazingly warm yet feels so light . I had to upsize my original order and the process of replacement was incredibly efficient . O'Neill absolutely the right choice for me - just delighted .

Incredible!
So glad I made the jump and got one of these jackets. So much better than going a springsuit or steamer option. Warm enough for SE Queensland winters. And super comfortable. The biggest benefits for me are:
- covers me through winter (warm enough with boardshorts)
- jacket on/off in only a few seconds
- easy to wash and maintain
- doesn't feel cumbersome like a typical wetsuit
- don't have to deal with all wear and tear stress of a normal wetsuit
I wish I gotten on this sooner!
