Not the warmest 4/3wetsuit I have ever owned unfortunately and can feel water leaking in through leg seems after just a few surfs.

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about your experience with the wetsuit. The Men's Defender has GBS seams and has internal taping covering 50% of the seams; this covers the torso down to your knee's; this internal taping combined with GBS seams is the best solution precenting water entering the wetsuit through the seams. While GBS seams alone reduce the amount of water entering the wetsuit, some water will penetrate the small pin holes over time.
For a fully internal taped wetsuit, take a look at the Hyper Range which has internal taping that covers 100% of the internal seams. This reduces the water from entering your wetsuit.

I bought two 3/2 Defenders at a great price but around 30% of the internal seam tape completely peeled off after the first two uses, and about 90% had come off after just five uses within the first two weeks of purchase. Other than this issue, I’m happy with the wetsuits.
In comparison, the two 4/3 Defenders I bought for 2026 winter had no seam tape come off after a whole winter of use, so I’m not sure whether this is an issue with this particular wetsuit or whether the seam tape on the 3/2 is generally less durable.

I’m Occy’s best mate and I can tell you, I’ll take your wettie over a freebie from Mark, I love that the zipper is already to go, I bought a springy last summer for the same reason, I’m sixty now so anything that makes it easier to get in and out of is a plus, all my mates that don’t have a zip like Oneills wetties are going to change over to yours, keep up the good work.
Sizing wise, I’ve got wide shoulders so I had to get a extra large, easier to get out of.

Great rubber, the back zip is not as warm as the chest zip, a little water gets down the back of the neck with each duck dive. Good fit, super comfy.

Big improvement from my last quicksilver steamer., it’s much easier to get on and off.
Only thing I’d mention is the sizing it probably a little bit bigger than previous ones but all is good.
