YOUR WETSUIT FINDER RESULTS
The rugged West Oz in winter... you'll want to be in some good rubber! Our top picks for best all round steamers for Winter in WA South are the Psychotech 3/2 or the Psycho One 3/2. We also recommend the Hyperfreak 4/3+ for complete freedom of movement and warm enough to go through Winter.
The Psychotech is our warmest and most advanced cold water series, with fully sealed seams, wind-blocking chest and back panels, TechnoButter Air Firewall liner and TB3 neoprene, to let you surf without restrictions for longer sessions.
The Psycho One has fully sealed seams, TB Firewall and hydrophobic TB3 neoprene, but focus on this suit is slightly more towards flexibility rather than warmth in the details.
The Hyperfreak 4/3 has glued and taped seams and no firewall liner, but is the stretchiest most comfortable suit we’ve ever made, so the 4/3 feels as free as any 3/2 we’ve ever worn anyway and the extra thickness in the neoprene gives enough warmth.
You can’t go wrong with any of these options, they’re world-leading wetsuits.
Special mention also to the Defender 3/2 which is comparable for warmth, and still very flexible and comfy, if you want a solid suit at a lower price.
If you really feel the cold and are surfing the harshest parts of winter, early mornings etc, you might consider a 4/3mm. The Psycho One 4/3 is our pick for these surfers.
Our favourite booties for WA are the lightweight but still warm, Ninja 3mm Booties.
It just depends on what’s most important to you - warmth / flexibility / price.
Check out the autumn/spring recommendations for further suggestionsif you feel the cold less or you are leaning towards warmer conditions.
